About the SAT Mathematics Level 2 Syllabus 2016-2017

The SAT Mathematics Level 2 syllabus contains a detailed outline of topics prospective SAT Mathematics Level 2  test takers should cover before they write the test.

The SAT Mathematics Level 2 syllabus is meant to ensure consistency between schools. It enables teachers to know what must be taught, and what is not required.

About the SAT Mathematics Level 2 test

The SAT Mathematics Level 2 Subject Test is a 60 minute exam with 50 questions. It measures the knowledge you’ve gained from 3 years of college-preparatory mathematics, including 2 years of algebra and 1 year of geometry. Although taking the SAT Mathematics Level 2 Subject Test is not a compulsory criteria in the admission requirements of some universities, taking it can help highlight your abilities and showcase your interest in higher-level mathematics(thereby differentiating you in the admission process).

  • The SAT Mathematics Level 2 subject test is offered in Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, May and June
  • Calculator use is permitted. Check for acceptable calculators here.
  • More than 3 years of college-preparatory mathematics, including 2 years of algebra and 1 year of geometry and elementary functions (precalculus) or trigonometry or both.
